What Does this MRI Scan Result Mean?

sir, My father is 84 year old, had stroke 6 years back. The recent MRI results of brain shows 1.Evidence of Subcortical and Cortical atrophy. 2.There was diffuse small vessel disease is it possible to cure the above issues in homeopathy?, Regards, anaga

Hello

MRI findings suggests age related cortical and sub cortical atrophic changes in brain.These are expected findings in all persons.Atrophy is generally due to aging,however it may be seen early in many conditions like brain infection,trauma etc.

There are also small vessel disease in brain.It is generally due to ischemia.
Ischemic changes generally occurs in conditions like hypertension,altered lipid profile,diabetes mellitus,vasculitis etc.These conditions damage small blood vessels and this leads to ischemia.
So,your father need screening of these conditions.It includes proper clinical examination and investigations like routine hemogram,random blood sugar,liver function test,renal function test,lipid profile.

He may need to take few medicines after evaluation.It is better to take allopathic treatment.
